I had trouble insuring my van .  All because of the accident I had last July.  It turns out that I came across someone trying to set up an accident between two cars and I ran into the back of one of them because they stopped so suddenly.  To cut a long story short the car they claimed I had hit was not the car I actually hit so it's all with the solicitors and has yet to be resolved.  So if you are male and under 30; because it is mostly younge men who try these scams, you know why your premiums are sky high.  All those fees to all those lawyers and the money to pay all those false claims just has to come from somewhere.

 

It's about time everyone realised that money is just an IOU for work you do, stuff you make or add value to, nothing more, nothing less.

At last Abbey or rather Santander have made me redundant.  Mind you I'll have to be careful as there is talk of a resession and there are no jobs out there as yet.

They have put me at risk of redundancy again.  I am awaiting my letter of notice of redundancy which is when they make it official.  Nothing has arrived yet and we were expecting it by today at least.  Sue hasn't had her letter yet either.  If we don't get anything by Wednesday we will be a bit anoyed especailly if it turns out that someone's not bothered.

Spent the whole week at the Quaker Study Center in Birmingham http://www.woodbrooke.org.uk.  I took my new laptop and my new camera and took some pictures of the house and gardens including some baby Coot's.  At least I now have a phrase I can trot out when I am caught stearing into space at work.  I can now ay with genuine truth and conviction that i'm 'Practicing Discernment!'  Now all I need is an emoticon which is a combination of and .  I guess i will have to just use them one after the other.  So discernment, in a religous context, will, from now on be expressed as   on this site!
